"Aquel que nos onoro de sa visito,
Se preparo de veire un bel endrets benesit"

{occitan: They who honnour us with their visit, be prepared to discover blessed surroundings}

The Tarn is an extremely beautiful department still not discovered by mass tourism.  It's remarkable green hilly landscape, consisting of meadows and woodland, is the domain of the river Tarn. The type of soil that is surfacing, determines the characteristics of the local environment.
Albi for instance, is located in an area of red clay. All houses are build with orange bricks. The soil of the famous wine district around Gaillac and Cordes sur Ciel, west of Albi, consists of lime rock and gives the surroundings a completely different atmosphere, because all houses are made of yellow-grey boulders. Around St. Affrique and Millau dominates a deep purple soil layer, whilst the area of la Libaudié consists of slate. The 80 cm thick walls of our ancient farm, are made of slate.

Ambialet, een van de vele pittoreske dorpjes aan de Tarn, die zeker een bezoek waard is.The area of the Vallée du Tarn has an inexhaustible source of culture, gastronomy and history.
In the Tarn region you won't be flooded by thousands of tourists, by screaming billboards, tens of  "theme" parks.
No, the Tarn Valley is a peaceful and quiet region where you can relax by walking or biking in a colourful, relaxing scenery, where you can enjoy a "Pastis" on one of the cosy terraces in little picturesque villages where the local people enjoy themselves with a game of Pétangue or where you may saunter around one of the many flea markets.

Also in wintertime it can be very beautiful!
